Wow, you know how as you grow up, your elders and peers constantly tell you not to wish time away because it goes too fast? Yeah, me too. And my oh my, were they right--it's SCARY how fast it goes.
Reflecting on this past year, I can say that I was nonetheless of content with some challenge. Graduating college was a huge milestone for me this year, and I could not be more proud of myself.
After serving at the same restaurant since I was 17 (yes, that would make it the year of 2014. and yes, it's bonkers to me too), my eagerness for change in my life has never been more real than it is currently. Still not knowing what I want to do with my life (but who really does? will I ever? idk), I accepted the first opportunity that came my way.
I recently accepted a position at Lexus of Akron-Canton as a full-time receptionist. Is this the ideal job I am looking for? No, not really. But, I said why the heck not! Building my resume and seeking opportunity to make me a more marketable individual in the workforce is my current goal.
For as long as I can remember, people have asked me what I want to be when I grow up. My answer has surely changed over the last amount of time, and I still don't know exactly what it is that I want to be. All I know is I want to be successful, and I want to be happy.
Sure, life isn't going to be peach, keen and fine 24/7, but that's life. I do have a long-term, I don't even know if I'd call it a goal, but a dream.
I dream of opening my own store. What kind of store you might ask? Well, I'm sure you could only assume: a clothing store/boutique.
My store would have a sort of chic, yet boho/thrifty, kind of vibe. I would tailor my garments to a variety of shapes and sizes, and hopefully be able to do so at a reasonable price. I LIVE for discount fashion, and that is what I would want to promote through my store and brand.
Will this ever happen? Who the heck knows, but the world is mine.
So, throughout this new year, I want to focus on a few things.
1. Happiness.
2. Not only reaching, but exceeding, my goals.
3. Challenging myself.
4. Making positive change.
5. Strengthening relationships.
6. Living for the moment.
7. Being satisfied and thankful for what I have right now.
8. Never settling for less.
9. Not comparing my anything to others.
10. Always working on becoming a better version of myself.
2020, I'm ready for you and what you have in store.
Please be great to me, and to those around me.
Let's do this!
Until next time.
♡XO, Maddy
