Oversized Flannels & Chunky Sweaters

'Tis the season for fall fashion, and I am ALL about it! This season brings all of the good things in life (well, some): chilly weather, hot beverages, pumpkins, changing leaves, football, halloween. But, let's not forget about the most important part (in my book) -- FALL APPAREL!

When I think of fall fashion, my mind automatically turns to sweaters and flannels. I'm talking your over-sized flannel from the men's section at the thrift store. Those are my favorite. There are a lot of great things in life, but going about your fall day in an over-sized flannel is pretty life-changing.

Chunky, knitted sweaters are another favorite of mine. I love a good over-sized sweater that I can pair with a pair of jeans or leggings, and finish off with my tall, Hunter rain boots. I also have been loving the shorter rain boot look with a mid-calf pair of socks.

This year, animal print has been making a comeback, and I am here for it. Cheetah and snake print, in particularly. I remember being in middle school, and having everything zebra print was THEE fad. I typically see animal print in tops, as well as skirts, and even shoes. I purchased the cheetah jacket I am wearing in the photo on the left about a month ago from T.J. Maxx for $25! Oh, and that's my dog Holly, she's all about the pictures as you can probably tell.

There are fall fashion trends from this year's New York Fashion Week that you can check into here, but I am speaking for what I notice the most trend wise in fall fashion.

Layering is huge during this season, and I don't think it is just for weather-purposes, but because pairing items together to spice up your outfit is key.

You can pair a basic tank top, or even shirt, with a cute patterned or textured cardigan for a unique look. Layers are lifeee, you guys.
